The game first launched a few years back and has since racked up tens of millions of installs globally. It's free to download and play, which is always a great starting point. However, like many games in this genre, it's supported by in-app purchases (IAPs) for speeding up progress, acquiring special heroes, and getting resources. These purchases can range from a couple of bucks for a small booster pack to well over $50 or even $100 for high-tier bundles and exclusive characters. You'll also encounter video ads, but these are usually optional and reward you with extra goodies for watching them.

Playing this game is a fun split between two distinct modes. You spend part of your time managing your survivor camp, upgrading buildings, training troops, and researching tech to strengthen your faction. As a real user who's sunk a lot of time into this app, I'd recommend it over others if you want more than just match-3 battles. It's for players who enjoy a slow-burn strategy game but want an active, skill-based combat system instead of automated fights.
